Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival
Arrive at accommodation in Killarney. Evening dinner at 18:30 hrs, followed by briefing.

Day 2 - The Kerry Way (Old Kenmare Road)
The walk on the Old Kenmare Road distils the essence of the Killarney National Park - oak woods, blanket bog, waterfalls, habitat of the Irish Red Deer. There are splendid views over the picturesque Lakes of Killarney as you descend by Torc Waterfall, before reaching 19th century Muckross House and Gardens where you may be tempted to visit the Tea Shop.

Day 3 - Mangerton Mountain
Today’s climb is to the Devil’s Punchbowl and, for those who seek the challenge, to the summit of Mangerton Mountain, overlooking the dramatic Horses Glen. There are wider views of the Killarney Lakes and Fells celebrated in song. A shorter circuit may be available for some.

Day 4 - Killarney National Park
A variety of experiences await you on your final day. A walk on Ross Island introduces you to copper mining dating circa 2000 BC. A short boat trip to Innisfallen Island allows exploration of its monastic ruins. The boat drops us near 15th century Muckross Friary, to be explored before a short walk on the Kerry Way to visit again Muckross House, Gardens and Tea Shop.

Day 5 - Option Day
If you decide to stay on in Killarney, there are a number of options – hire a bike, take a boat up the lakes and walk through the Gap of Dunloe, take a tour Muckross House (if not done already), visit the Kerry farm Experience, drive the Ring of Kerry.

Note that, for weather or other reasons, on occasion the guide may have to change the sequence of walks or the walks themselves.
